Trevor Belmont has to stop a vengeful Dracula who has unleashed his monsters on Wallachia. Why? Because they killed his wife!
The first season of Twitter consists of four episodes. I have played many of the Castlevania games, but I don’t remember so much. I’m a kid of the 80s, but I’m not the person who cares about the origin story and how close a movie or TV show is tied to the original work. I’m just looking to be entertained, and that’s all.
Since the first season only has four episodes, it’s a little difficult to review the first season. This was supposed to be a movie. So that’s why there are so few episodes in the first season.
I enjoyed the first season when we see what makes Dracula so furious when the woman he loves gets killed by the church. And I also loved the second episode when Trevor Belmont is introduced, and it feels like you are watching a drunk, Jack Sparrow. He acts and talks like Jack Sparrow. The bar fight was a fun scene.
The third and fourth episode was as expected. The action scenes take over, and they are decent. But to me, they felt generic. There weren’t any action scenes that impressed me. The monsters especially disappointed me. Again, I have to use the word generic. And I hate generic things!
I expect that the next season will be better than the first season. There wasn’t anything that surprised me in this season. There’s a lot of talking, but the characters don’t have much depth. We get at least to know the protagonist better and what he stands for.
Well, there was one thing that surprised me, and that was the graphic violence. I enjoyed that, and also the humor. It feels like we’re following Jack Sparrow in the Castlevania universe.
So I’m looking forward to the second season, and I hope Dracula will get more screentime. I liked the few minutes we followed him. He’s a tormented and depressed character that can be interesting to follow.
