Identity (2003)

When I was going up the stairs, I met a man who wasn’t there. He wasn’t there again today, I wish, I wish he’d go away.

Identity er en sjelden film som byr på en original historie. Problemet er at den har gjort mesteparten av jobben første gang man ser den. Etter det blir filmen aldri den samme. Skuespillerne gjør en god jobb, atmosfæren er herlig med en regntung kveld der karakterene er isolerte.

Det er synd at Identity ikke kunne vært en større produksjon. Filmen blir aldri kjedelig, men jeg kunne ønske at tempoet ble satt ned noen hakk, og spilletiden forlenget med minst en halvtime. Man får kun forhold til en rollefigur, Ed, spilt av John Cusack. De andre kommer i skyggen, man bryr seg aldri om dem, kanskje med unntak av mannen som må ta seg av sin døende kone. Utover det knytter man ikke nærmere bånd til rollefigurene.

En original film med en god og interessant historie som er klart best første gang man ser den.
