Little Miss Period (2019) – English Review

The blood is coming, and with blood, love is born.

We follow two women and the people around them as they try to navigate through the river of love and blood. It’s not easy to be a woman who has been bleeding all around for decades, and this is the movie that pays tribute to all the bleeding women in the world. And in the leading bleed role, we find the hottest woman alive today, Fumi Nikaido. Oh yeah, and to be honest, that was the reason I wanted to watch this short movie, which has just a runtime of 70 minutes before the end credits appear on the screen.

Fumi Nikaido dates a man whose wife died, and he’s stuck with a sad, young daughter who doesn’t want a new mummy. Well, my advice to her father is to throw that garbage out of the house! Why keep that little sulky brat when you can have Fumi Nikaido all for yourself? Fumi Nikaido tries her best to get closer to the mourning little girl, but nothing she does helps. Has the train left the station for this couple, or will the dad throw his daughter in front of the train? I would have thrown my whole family in front of the train to have Fumi Nikaido as my wife! Holy fish! I didn’t say that. I can’t help it! My mouth just opens up, and I say things without thinking a lot, it seems.

The second story here is about a janitor woman who’s an introvert, but she has a hidden talent. And when someone her age discovers who she is, her love adventure begins, and her period will back her up when she needs a shoulder to cry on. It’s not easy to be an introvert and have the voice of a rock star. Her voice rocks! Seriously!

“Little Miss Period” may seem like a silly movie, but I sort of enjoyed it since the two leading actresses are great, and man, Fumi Nikaido is like a shining, beautiful star, and she’s so talented. There are not many actors like Fumi, that’s for sure.

The movie has some charming, funny moments, especially for all the bleeding heroes out there in the world. And if you have a beating heart for all of the bleeding heroes out there, I think you will have a good time with this short and charming movie that isn’t deep, but it has that special Japanese charm and the shining star that will never bleed out, Fumi Nikaido.
