Princess Mononoke (1997)

Cut off a wolf’s head and it still has the power to bite.

Princess Mononoke kan sammenlignes med Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, der krig er roten til alt vondt. Ting er mer alvorlig i Princess Mononoke, eventyrfølelsen er der, men de sære rollefigurene som man finner i andre filmer fra Studio Ghibli er ikke her.

Jeg savnet litt galskap, da er ikke Princess Mononoke riktig film, den har ikke mye glimt i øyet. Vakker er den, og filmmusikken er noe av det vakreste jeg har hørt i en animasjonsfilm. Animasjonen er nydelig, man drømmer seg bort i dette universet, men drømmen blir noen ganger ødelagt av alvoret og realismen med krig og samuraier. Princess Mononoke har noe å fortelle, men det er ikke en film for de yngste, den blir for alvorlig til at de yngste vil la seg underholde.

Nok en flott film fra Studio Ghibli. Pixar har mye å lære har jeg først nå skjønt. Studio Ghibli er i en klasse for seg selv.
