Shanghai Knights (2003)

Jackie Chan og Chris Tucker er en bedriten duo, takket være Chris Tucker. Jackie Chan og Owen Wilson derimot, er en herlig duo som hygger seg i hverandres nærvær. Shanghai Noon er en av de beste filmene Jackie Chan har medvirket i når han har tatt turen innom Hollywood. Shanghai Knights følger i samme fotspor, bare at nå besøker duoen landet med dårlige tenner, England.

Owen Wilson byr på flere gullkorn, og er som alltid Owen Wilson. Jeg digger denne karen, elsker hans tilbakelente stil og mumling. Jackie Chan tar seg av slåsskampene selvfølgelig. Kampscenene imponerer ikke så mye i Shanghai Knights, det blir for mye klovnerier, spesielt i starten blir det for mange hyllester til Buster Keaton og Singin’ in the Rain. Jeg foretrekker helt klar Hong Kong-filmene til Jackie Chan. Det er en grense for fjolleri, for det blir mer ødeleggende enn moro til slutt.

En helt grei oppfølger der Owen Wilson herjer. Høydepunktet ved siden av Owen Wilson er kampscenen mellom Jackie Chan og Donnie Yen, men den er meget kort. Typisk Hollywood, de vet ikke bedre når de har gull mellom hendene.
