The Color of Money (1986)

Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

I regissørstolen finner vi selveste Martin Scorsese, og i hovedrollene Tom Cruise og Paul Newman. Men selv om filmen har en god regissør og gode skuespillere, så mangler denne filmen gnist. Tom Cruise er helt manisk her, og man kan ikke like denne fyren. Paul Newmans rollefigur er egentlig ikke noe bedre, for mannen er uærlig, men får plutselig samvittighet og stolthet mot slutten av filmen. Ingen av rollefigurene i filmen får man sympati for i det hele tatt, og da gir man blaffen i hvordan det går med deres liv og spill.

The Color of Money er en film med altfor mange mangler, og det er ikke noe Martin Scorsese-magi her. Men jeg tror ikke det er så mange som kunne ha reddet denne filmen, det er manuset og rollefigurene for svake til.
