The Foot Fist Way (2006)

I’m so hungry I could eat a grown man’s ass right now!

Etter å ha sett Observe and Report, ble jeg nysgjerrig på den første filmen Jody Hill regisserte. Jeg likte humoren i Observe and Report, så jeg hadde forventninger til The Foot Fist Way. Jeg må si jeg ble skuffet.

The Foot Fist Way blander den litt sorte humoren vi finner i Observe and Report ,og kampsport. Det hele blir en halvhjertet filmopplevelse. Jeg har selv trent kampsport, og kan kjenne meg litt igjen når Fred Simmons forklarer meningen med Taekwondo, og at det alltid er en idiot som ikke klarer å oppføre seg. Problemet er at fokuset rettes på kampsport, og det blir helt feil at Danny McBride og Ben Best er de store mestrene. Etter det jeg vet, har ikke de to noe som helst erfaring med kampsport, det ser man tydelig. Det blir selvsagt en slåsskamp her, og den er elendig. Det handler mest om å knuse planker og steiner, det blir for dumt.

The Foot Fist Way føltes tom ut. Jeg lo noen ganger, spesielt sløvingen og kampsportkongen Ben Best er mannen. Men utover skuffet filmen.
