The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon (2023) – English Review

A gangster who doesn’t have long to live sets out on a journey to kill two criminals who are more wanted than he is. He wants to climb the throne to be number one among the most wanted criminals in the country.

“The Pig, the Snake, and the Pigeon” is a movie that boasts solid cinematography and features some funny and intense scenes as the protagonist faces criminals who are more wanted by the police than he is. The protagonist has lung cancer and doesn’t have long to live, so he doesn’t have anything to lose when he finds the two other wanted men. Along the way, he also meets a woman who is trapped in the web with the first wanted man that the protagonist finds.

The most boring wanted man in this trio is, in fact, the protagonist himself. He is brutal when he gets the taste of blood, but he’s not a character you fear like the first wanted man he takes on. That man is a hard lunatic. You feel bad for the young woman who is trapped in the web since she seems like a nice young woman.

But the most interesting wanted man is the second one who is the leader of your usual friendly cult that only wants your money. These cults are so irritating, and the ending of this story is so fun and fitting. I enjoyed every bullet, I tell you!

“The Pig, the Snake, and the Pigeon” has that cool, dark atmosphere with a dose of black humor. The protagonist is pretty boring, to be honest, but even though he kills a lot of rotten apples in the movie, he never feels like a bad human in our sick world. He only kills people who play the same game as he does, and that’s cool, you know. He’s a simple man with a simple mind, and he accepts the cards he has been dealt.

“The Pig, the Snake, and the Pigeon” isn’t a fast-paced movie as it tries to build up the scenes and the atmosphere, and it succeeds with that. One thing I didn’t like was the ending which didn’t feel right. I felt that the character deserved a better and more heroic ending than the one he got.
Overall, this is an entertaining crime-thriller with some cool characters, but the protagonist is the bland one, which I didn’t like. The same goes for the ending.
