Why Don’t You Just Die! (2018) – English Review

Round 1! Round 2! Round 3! Fight forever!

A young woman wants her boyfriend to kill her father. The reason for that is that her father raped her when she was young. She wants him dead. But not everything goes according to plan when the young man knocks on the apartment door, and the father opens up the door.

Why Don’t You Just Die is an entertaining movie. The story takes place in a small apartment where the people inside will paint the apartment red.

The movie opens with a fantastic fight between the young man and the father. The fight choreography is excellent, and it’s so funny. It feels like you’re watching a brutal fight choreographed by Jackie Chan.

It turns out that it’s difficult to kill the young man. He gets tortured. He gets stabbed, and he gets strangled. But his heart will never stop completely, which makes the father in the house frustrated.

When it comes to the characters, they are a bunch of self-absorbed psychos, except for the daughter’s mother. She’s innocent, but in this universe, innocence doesn’t have the right to live.

The other characters are unsympathetic and fucked up in the head. The only one you will root for is the young man who has the heart of a lion. But he’s not an innocent character since he listens to his girlfriend, who wants him to kill her father. He isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The actors are excellent. They surprised me since this isn’t a movie with a big budget. But the actors are solid as a hard rock!

Why Don’t You Just Die could remind me of a Guy Ritchie movie. But, Why Don’t You Just Die is so brutal, and there’s so much blood in this movie. The blood squirts out everywhere. And I also loved the dark humor. So if you like violence and a little torture and a lot of blood combined with dark humor, this is a movie worth watching.

Rating: 7/10
